Founded in 2005, Typhoon Touch Technologies is
the owner of two foundational patents covering many common aspects of portable touch screen computing. Typhoon is entitled to participate in revenue streams realized from the sale of devices that utilize its patents.
Typhoon's executive team is focused on maximizing shareholder value by ensuring that the Company's rights are properly recognized. Typhoon is monetizing its foundational and highly relevant intellectual property through negotiated license and royalty agreements, and where necessary, through active litigation.
The development of technology must be rooted in the ownership or licensing of patents, and infringement is inexcusable.Typhoon Touch Technologies currently owns two U.S. Patents: no. 5,379,057[i] and no. 5,675,362[ii]. Patent 5,675,362, which is dated as of October 7, 1997, is a continuation of U.S. Patent 5,379,057, dated as of January 3, 1995. These patents cover portable, self-contained, general-purpose, keyboard-less, computing devices, which utilize a touch-screen display for data entry purposes.
The objective of both patents is to provide an improved, portable, general purpose computer to facilitate data entry, is ergonomically designed in a streamlined case with an integral touch screen for overall ease of use, and is convenient for the user on the go. This represents an improved system for data collection in that it requires minimal instruction for use and eliminates the need for a keyboard for data entry. The range of devices that utilize Typhoon's portable touch screen patents is broad, and expanding rapidly. The Company's management and legal team are actively connecting with companies to enhance and utilize our intellectual property, spark new ideas for future ventures, and partner in commercialization.
